Betty J. Cather

Butler:  Betty J. Cather, 93, died Monday, August 7, 2017 at DeKalb Healt in Auburn.  She was born February 26, 1924 in Little Rock, Arkansa to the late Nathan and Grace (Williams) Roland.  She married William S. Cather on June 24, 1949 at the Church of the Nazarene in Auburn, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2012.  She was a housewife and had previously worked at Marshall Clothing in Butler.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. 

She was a member of the Butler Church of the Nazarene, Stafford Township Home Economics Club, Town and Country Club, and the Wittenberg Guild.  Her passion was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son; Dave W. (Dawn) Cather of Hamilton, two grandchildren; Adrianne Cather of Angola and Patrick Cather of Edon, OH.,  and three great-grandchildren; Leigha, Sophia and Amea.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one sister Joy Cornelius. Graveside services for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017, 4 PM at Big Run Cemetery, Butler. Rev. Paul Patton of the Butler Church of the Nazarene will be officiating.
