John Chojnowski, Jr.

Angola:  John Chojnowski, Jr., 83, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at home.

He was born April 17, 1933 in Ziegler, IL. to the late John, Sr. and Jennie (Sulkowski) Chojnowski.  He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He married Janet K. (Allman) Chojnowski on October 21, 1989 in Warren, MI. and she survives.  He worked for Chrysler Automotive in Highland Park, MI. for 31 years as a Specification Analyst and 7 years at Aero Detroit Engineering.  John enjoyed playing cards and computer games.  He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Angola and Angola American Legion Post 31.

 Surviving is his wife Janet of Angola, one son; Daniel (Lisa) Chojnowski of St. Clair, MI., two daughters; Linda L. (Mickey) Rasch of Chesterfield, MI. and Patricia A. (Ken) Whitlock of Strongsville, OH., one step-son; Rick (Roxann) Shlater of LaOtto, IN., one step-daughter; Jennifer (Dee) Trier of Columbia City; eight grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.  Also surviving is one sister; Isabel Burkors of Roseville, MI.  He was preceded in death by one son; John Chojnowski, III.

 Funeral services for John Chojnowski, Jr. will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Chas.Verheyden Funeral Home, Warren, MI. at 12:00p.m with prior calling starting at10:00a.m. until  service time with Deacon Richard Shubik officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, MI.

Local calling will be held Sunday, September 4, 2016, from 3-6p.m.at H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 108 S. West St., Angola, IN.  Memorials are requested to: Humane Society Inc of Steuben County, 1700 N 200W, Angola, IN. 46703 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN. 38148. Family ask that no flowers be sent.
