Lucille B. Overman

Lucille Overman (Blackmon) went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 17, 2017.  Lucille was born on April 16, 1936, in Micro, NC to Josh and Ada Blackmon (Daughtry).  She was a devoted wife, mother and friend who truly loved everyone she came in contact with. 
 
Lucille enjoyed painting, gardening, playing cards and especially her family and church communities.  She retired from Sky Bank (MidAm) July 20, 1998, as VP of Public Affairs.  Her lifetime achievements included being chosen as one of the exceptional business women by Tribute to Women & Industry (TWIN), Athena Award recipient, member of Toastmasters, officer for the Wood County Chapter of the National Secretaries Association, volunteer for “MidAm Helping Hand” program and various church ministries. 

  Surviving is her son, William Paul (Fran) Overman, Jr., a daughter, Deborah C. (Jeff) Albright, grandchildren; Bryan Lever (Hee Sook), grandson, Kelly Lever (Adam), granddaughter, Heather Plowman (Tim), granddaughter, and 4 great-grandchildren, Sage, Grace, Noah, and Nyah.  Surviving is one sister Louise Norris.

Lucille is preceded in death by Josh and Ada Blackmon (parents), William Paul Overman, Sr. (husband) and Marvin Blackmon (brother). 

Friends will be received on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at H. Johnson & Son Funeral Home, 108 S. West Street, Angola, IN.  Funeral services will begin 11 am Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes, 2955 W. Orland Rd., Angola, IN.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Orland, IN, followed by a luncheon at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either of Lucille’s churches:
