I have always been honored to share a name with Nancy Siebold. She was not just a teacher but a dear family friend. Not too long ago in one of my sermons I mentioned an activity she had us do in general music class - listening to the Mauldau and drawing a picture. She taught us to love the feeling behind the music with all of our senses. For that I am eternally thankful.

I praise God for the life of Nancy Siebold, mourn her loss, and rejoice in her new life!

Nancy was one of the most influential people in my life. She was always there for me on a personal level when I was being mistreated at home. She listened. It was her influence that caused me to go to Michigan State University where she had attended and to first major/then minor in music...voice. Singing has probably been my greatest joy in life and was grateful to share it with others during my life. In later years, Nancy and I became friends, and whenever I was in Angola, I would take her to dinner. The last time when I arrived at her apartment, she said she just couldn't go as she wasn't feeling well. So sorry. To the remaining family, I know you must miss her a lot. I know I do, and I offer my condolences to you.

My husband and I loved our choir teacher and had great respect for her talent and abilities to get us all to sing at Competition levels and bring home top honors for our school and for her. She impacted many lives in such a positive way and touched our hearts with her "you can do this" attitude. The high level of respect isn't earned by many teacher's, but she was over the top:-} She will be missed.

She was a great musical influence on many generations... my condolences to the family! An idea has begun to brew, offering an alum choir as a send off from as many generations of her students as possible. Please consider this with the respect it is intended... contact me at the provided email address.

A few very special people have lasting influences in all our lives. Miss Siebold was a special person to me. She instilled an appreciation for music in all its forms that I still carry with me. Surely, she's directing an angel choir now. A teacher and friend that I'll always fondly remember.
