Richard P. Doenges

Angola:  Richard P. Doenges, 88, died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his home.  He was born March 6, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harold and Leota (Smith) Doenges.

Surviving is one son and one daughter; Mark Doenges of Angola and Susan Lynn McNary-Murray of Canton, Ohio, two grandchildren;  Christine McNary and R. Alan McNary  and one great-grandchild, Amya McNary.  He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth “Betty” (Murray) Doenges on February 21, 2016.  He was a member of the Angola Masonic Blue Lodge #236, Ashley Order of Eastern Stars #229, Angola York Rite, Angola American Legion Post #31, and Fort Wayne Shriners.   He was a retired Methodist minister who served locally at Alvarado United Methodist Church and the Olde York Church.      

Services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 108 S. West Street, Angola at 11 AM with Pastors Tim Terrell of the Angola United Methodist Church and John Winright of Revelation Chapel officiating. Burial will take place at Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the funeral home with calling from 3-7 PM and a Masonic Service at 7 PM.
