Stanley Raymond Carden

Stan Carden died peacefully in his bed the morning of September 19, 2015.  Parkinson’s Disease no longer holds him in its iron grip – he is free.  He lived a full and happy life in his 77 years.  After serving in the army, he married his sweetheart, Nancy.  They met at a riding stable where they both boarded horses, and while it may not have been love at first sight (when they first met, she thought he was a little arrogant), it was definitely the love of a lifetime.  They both loved the outdoors, horses, dogs, and cats – and sports.  Together they had three children, Becky, Mike and Matt.  Stan and Nancy envisioned a long, happy life together, raising their family on ten wooded acres on the outskirts of Roselawn, Indiana.  Nancy was taken from him too soon when a car accident ended her life in 1982.   Stan raised his young children on his own.  He found happiness in their achievements over the years.  His favorite memories were of hunting and fishing with his sons and attending all three children’s  sporting events .  And then his sons blessed him with grandchildren and he discovered a new level of happiness.

Stanley is survived by his children, Becky, Mike, and Matt, and his grandchildren.
