Virgene (Selking) Sanders

Angola:  Virgene Sanders, 83, died Friday, January 26th, 2018 at Chandler Place Assisted Living in Kendallville. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church.  She retired from the Steuben Council on Aging (Angola) in 1999. She was born March 8th, 1934 to the late William and Jenny (Erxleben) Selking in Preble, Indiana. Virgene married Steve Sanders on June 29, 1962 and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2015. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Daniel W. and Lisa M. Sanders of Evansville; one daughter and son-in-law; Deanna S. and Nick Kariotakis of Naperville, IL., two sisters; Marianne (Kenneth) Koeneman of New Haven, IN and Dorothy (Al) Zeller of Churubusco, IN., two brothers; Don (Alice) Selking of Mesquite, NV and Roger (Melissa) Selking of Indianapolis, IN., one sister-in-law; Nancy A. Sanders of Angola, and one grandson and granddaughter-in-law; Kyle T. (Ashley) Sanders of Navarre, FL., along with several nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 Williams St., Angola at 1 PM. with Rev. Daryl L. Emowrey officiating. Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will be immediately following at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola. Family has requested memorials be given to Calvary Lutheran Church, Angola or the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory:
