Angola:Catherine “Katy” I. (Gaskill) Johnson, age 86 of Angola, IN (formerly of Fort Wayne, IN) fell asleep in death January 5, 2018 at Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehab Center in Angola.
She was born in February of 1931 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Robert James and Emma Mae (Bonifacius) Gaskill. Catherine raised and sold champion AKC Poodles and Yorkies at her kennel “Lorilea Kennels” in Fort Wayne and later here in Angola. She had a grooming shop “Angola Grooming” in Angola for years Catherine is survived by three children, daughters Lorie (Michael) Baker of Fremont, IN, Teri (Steven) Sheneman of Seminole, FL, and her son, Jason Bloomfield (Denise) of Fort Wayne.
Ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two half-brothers, Tim (Deb) Gaskill of Fort Wayne and Donald (DeAnn) Gaskill of Butler and two half-sisters, Sue (Bill) Krontz of Butler and Linda Anderson of San Diego, California.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents husbands; John Lea, Louis Bloomfield, LeRoy Lewis and Santford Johnson, one half- brother, Robert Gaskill; two half sisters, Patty Knepper and Judy Short
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Catherine enjoyed helping people learn about the Bible, about her God, Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ.
There will be a memorial service for her Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 4 p.m. at: Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 2725N State Road 827 Angola, IN 46703
