Evalene Klink Obituary

Angola:  Evalene (Davis) Klink, 90, formerly of Ashley, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Cameron Woods in Angola.  She was born April 5, 1928 in Maysville, Ok. to the late Fred E. and Dora (Miller) Davis.Evalene graduated from Maysville High School in 1946 and enrolled in St. Anthony Hospital School of Nursing in Oklahoma City.  She later joined the U.S. Navy where she practiced nursing in Oakland, CA. during the Korean Conflict. While stationed there she met Charles Klink who was her patient and they later married on February 12, 1954, in Reno, NV. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2003.  When Charles was discharged from the Navy, they moved to Indiana where they purchased a farm and raised their family. She was involved on the farm and a homemaker. She worked for Angola Canvas for several years.  She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, and was a member of the RSVP Club in Angola, and made walker bags for anyone in need.

She is survived by four sons; Charles A. Klink, Jr. Angola, Bruce A. Klink, Hudson, Fred A. (Rhonda) Klink, Garrett, Jeffrey S. (Rea) Klink, Angola, one daughter; Vicky A. (Scott) Little, Puyallup, WA., one daughter-in-law; Tammy Klink of Auburn, 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son; Kurtis W. Klink on November 1, 2012, one daughter; Cynthia N. Klink on November 17, 1964, one brother; Andrew Davis and one sister; Imogene Butcher.

Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Monday September, 17, 2018 at H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Angola with Mori Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Pleasant Lake, IN., with military honors conducted by the United States Navy and Orland American Legion Post #423. Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, September, 16, 2018 at the funeral home.

Family requests memorials be given in memory of Evalene Klink to Disabled American Veterans, Shriners Children Hospital and Riley Children’s Hospital.
