Angola: Marie Bolin, 85, of Angola, died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Ft. Wayne. She was born in Turenne, Algeria on September 10, 1932 to the late Colombo and Isabelle (Visciano) Nucci. Her father was Mayor of the town where she grew up, and earned his living producing briar wood pipes. As a young girl, Marie remembered catching candy from the American Soldiers as they marched in the streets during the liberation of France. In 1955 she met an American Air Force Lieutenant, William F. Bolin who was stationed near her home town. They married that same year and together traveled the world as Bill completed his career enlistment. He preceded her in death in 2005. They moved to Angola in 1971. Marie was a loving, dedicated spouse, mother and friend to everyone she met. She loved painting and flower gardening. She was a dedicated member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Angola also teaching religious education and member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the former Pokagon Antique Club. For many years she worked part time cleaning the church parsonage and previously was employed at Elwood Nichol’s Hobby Store in Angola.
She is survived by one son: Jeff (Migdalia) Bolin of Indianapolis, 2 daughters: Karen ( Danny) Eyster and Catherine (Barney) Bryan all of Angola. Also 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers; Eliot Nucci and Jean-Claude Nucci. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband William, one son; Christopher J. Bolin and one sister; Alice Nucci.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday June 22, 2018 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Angola with Father Bernie Zajdel officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola. Immediately following a luncheon will be served at the church for all in attendance. Visitation will be held from 9-11:00a.m. prior to the service at the church.
