Mary Lou Chard Obituary

Angola:  Mary Lou Chard, 73, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.  She was born July 20,1944in Defiance, Ohio to Lowell H. and Dorothy L. (Boday) Folk.  She graduated in 1962 from Ayresville High School in Ayresville,OH.  Mary Lou was united in marriage to Lee Chard on October 3, 1965 at St.Stephens Lutheran Church, Defiance, OH. and he survives in Angola. Until retirement she had worked at Vice Insurance and previously at Farmers Insurance as an insurance agent for over 25 yrs. She had also worked at Chronister in Angola.  She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont. She enjoyed sewing, card playing, crafts and vegetable gardening. Her passion was spending time with her family and beloved grandchildren attending their activities.

Surviving is her mother, Dorothy Folk, Holgate, OH, three daughters: Annette Chard, Ft. Wayne, Michelle (Brad) Fincher, Angola, Jennifer (T.R.) Hagerty, Angola, four grandchildren: Emilee Bonifay, Xavier Yankey, Hannah Hagerty and Layla Hagerty, one brother; John (Sandy) Folk, New Bavaria, OH.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell H. Folk and one infant sister, Betty Ellen Folk.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, 355 IN-120, Fremont with Rev. Jeffrey Teeple officiating. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Circle Hill Cemetery.  Memorial visitation will be held from 3-7p.m. Monday July 2, 2018 at H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 108 S. West St. Angola.
