Angola:  Stanley W. “Stan” Monroe, 67, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 24, 2017. Stan was born, September 18, 1950 in Paoli, Indiana to the late George William and Ruth Evelyn (Dougherty) Monroe.  He was the owner of Midwest Services in Angola from 1986 to 2017.  Stan married Susan Kay (Beals) Monroe on April 14, 1984 in Virginia and she survives.  He was a member of various car clubs, was the youngest AKC Kennel Club show superintendent, a member of the Orland Sons of The Legion Post 423 in Orland,  and besides working on and restoring autos he loved to work outdoors at his home.

Surviving is his wife Susan, one daughter; Elaine Tibbetts of Angola, and one son; Jack Monroe of Alabama, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and three sisters; Barbara Monroe of Angola, Mary (Greg) Mangus of Fremont and Betty (Paul) Lawson of Gulf Breeze, Florida, one uncle; Tom (Konita) Dougherty of Greenwood, IN. and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4-7p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 108 S. West St., Angola, IN.

Private graveside services will follow.

Family requests memorials be given in memory of Stanley W. “Stan” Monroe to The Sons of the Legion Post 423 Orland, Indiana 46776.
