Virginia Mae (Shambaugh) Pflueger

Virginia Mae (Shambaugh) Pflueger of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the age of 94 at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.  She was born January 16, 1924 in Sugar Grove, IN. to the late Ora and Pearley (Reed) Shambaugh.

She was employed at General Electric in Fort Wayne for 45 years, retiring in 1987.

Virginia was a member of the GE Elex Club, Honorettes of Elex, and the GE Quarter Century

Club. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary for over 65 years.

Virginia is survived by two sisters; Gwendolyn Shambaugh of Auburn and Leona ((Gary) VanZile of Butler, two brothers; Robert (Nancy) Shambaugh of Rome City and Dennis (Betty)

Shambaugh of New Haven. Additional survivors include many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom were special to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Pearley Shambaugh, brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Connie Shambaugh of Auburn, and one nephew, Mitchell Ora VanZile of Butler.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 27, 2018 at the H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 212 N. Broadway, Butler at 1 pm with visitation preceding services from 11 am to 1 pm. Pastor Dale Rabineau of Christ’s Church, Butler will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery.
