Message from Judge William Fee, Steuben Superior Court
November 9, 2017 12:48 PM

From my perspective as a judge, Bill was the early face of the recovery community here in Steuben County. As that community grew and strengthened, he was a constant. Always ready to help those truly seeking a course of life correction. He was equipped in this task w/ his boundless good humor. While disciplined and willing to say things that perhaps folks in denial might not want to hear, he maintained an optimistic outlook throughout, even if sometimes things did not work out as he might have hoped. This strikes me as the measure of a good man and a great recovery story. I join in my deepest condolences to the family. I agree w/ those who say he will be deeply missed -but note that he has laid down a wonderful example for others to follow.

On behalf of the Freistroffer family, I wish to send our deepest sympathy on the loss of our "Billy Boy". He was a wonderful friend of my Dad, Henry, and helped keep Henry's Bar open after Dad's death in 1979. Our family knew him well growing up and always enjoyed his great smile and quick wit. May God bless you, Bill, on your journey home.

Uncle Bill was a great guy! I enjoyed "our teasing each other", always a jokester. Deepest sympathies sent to the Kuhn family. Miss him much. A very important person in Brian, Alan, and Ann's life. I love the pic of his BIG Smile!

To the Family of Bill Kuhn,

I am so sad to learn of the passing of one of my oldest and dearest friends, Bill. I met him in 1969, shortly after meeting my future husband, Jerry Gephart. Not only were they good friends, they bartended at Henry's together in the evenings after their day jobs. Bill was a sales rep for Ohio Plate Glass at the time. We ended up living in the same apartment house on West Washington in Fort Wayne. My apartment was across the front of the house, Bill's was in the center with a side entrance, and his dad, Bob lived in an apartment at the rear of the building. We spent many weekends with Bill at the lake, and he was always the life of the party.

I took this photo of Bill a couple years ago when we met for breakfast one morning in Angola. Though he had gone thru some really serious medical issues, his sense of humor was still intact. He was very dedicated to the people he had helped during his lifetime and was enjoying being retired. He was very proud of his family and truly missed his brother. I am so sorry for your loss. Bill was a very special friend to us.
