Arlene Saxton, 87, of Auburn, passed peacefully at the Laurels of Dekalb. She was born April 22, 1934, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late Clarence Ray Jefferson and Lucille (Goldsworth) Jefferson.
Arlene graduated from Holton High School in 1952.
Arlene married Wayne Albert Saxton on September 10, 1955, at Holton United Methodist Church in Michigan. She was also a member at Holton United Methodist Church before she moved to Auburn, Indiana. She then attended Waterloo United Methodist Church.
Arlene was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She loved her great grandchildren. She always had a warm smile that greeted you and she was funny.
Arlene enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting during her quite times.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Carol (Christopher) Barr of Auburn; son, Todd Saxton of Auburn; grandsons, Eric, Sr. (Christina) Barr and Ryan (Amber Chapin) Barr; and the twinkle in her eyes her five beautiful great grandchildren, Alora Barr, Eric Jr., Wayne, Atticus and Hunter; and many nieces and nephews.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; and her only brother, Frank Jefferson.
