Chester A. Heckathorn

Chester A. Heckathorn, 89, of Pleasant Lake, IN, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare of Angola. He was born on April 26, 1933 at his family home in Pleasant Lake, IN to Chester and Chloe (Sands) Heckathorn. He was united in marriage to Nelia (Lazada) Heckathorn on December 27,1991 in Leyte, Philippines. Chester was drafted into the Korean War and served honorably in the United States Army and Marine Corps. Chester was a hard worker with a kind and generous heart. He enjoyed old country music, western movies, and being a father.

He is survived by his wife, Nelia Heckathorn of Pleasant Lake, IN; children, Sarah (Nicholas) Racioppi of Fort Wayne, IN and Kent (Jannia) Heckathorn of San Clemente, CA and grandchildren, Kai and Koa Racioppi. Also surviving are two brothers and one sister. Chester was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
Honoring Chester's request there are no services and he will be laid to rest in Pleasant Lake Cemetery in Pleasant Lake, IN at a later date.
