Joan Whitman Obituary

Joan L. Whitman, 92, of Hamilton, Indiana, died on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Laurels of Dekalb County, Butler, Indiana. She was born to Edward E. and Letha (Enzor) Rickerd on December 29, 1931. On February 10, 1950 she married Cecil Duane Whitman who preceded her in death in 2011. Also preceding her in death were her parents; grandson, Scott Whitman; son-in-law, Jerry Strock; and sister, Norma Koeppe.

Joan worked on the farm and raised a garden, and also worked at Hamilton (Indiana) Products, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed cooking and game shows in her retirement years. Joan is survived by three children, Janalee (Terry) Ulm and Sherri Strock of Butler, and Jerry Whitman of Hamilton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

No services or calling. Burial in Eddy Cemetery, Hamilton, Indiana.
