Theresa L. (Laverty) Hodge

ANGOLA - Theresa (Laverty) Hodge joined her creator on Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital. She was born March 9, 1934 in Lemont, Illinois. Theresa graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy in St. Charles, Illinois in 1952. Theresa’s loving husband, Ronald L. Hodge, preceded her in death on February 18, 2016. They were married on Oct. 6, 1956. She was also preceded in death by both parents Milton Arthur Laverty and Josephine (Counter) Laverty. She is survived by two daughters, Denise (Brian) Magwire and Lee Ann (Jeff) Snyder, both of Angola, four grandchildren, Sean (Kristyn) Magwire, Shane Magwire, Jeremy Snyder and Jason Snyder and one great-grandchild, Patrick Magwire. Theresa is also survived by two sisters Joanne Turner and Marilyn (William) Stewart, and one brother Richard (Patricia) Laverty.  Theresa was a homemaker devoted to raising her daughters and later in life owned and operated the Horizon Insti-Print in Angola with her husband for many years. She also worked at the Assembly of God Daycare for a short time. Theresa and her husband enjoyed some of their early retirement in Texas during the winter months. She was a lover of all sports and lifetime fan of the Chicago Cubs, Indiana Basketball and Notre Dame football. Her favorite pastime was watching her beloved Cubs. Theresa also enjoyed attending her club meetings and bible classes. She especially loved spending time with her family, friends and all her fellow residents at Terrace Ridge.

         Theresa was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, the Crimson Classics Red Hat Club, Steuben County Women’s Club and the St. Anthony Altar & Rosary Society.

         Memorial services will be held Friday, Aug. 10, 2018 at 11AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. 700 W. Maumee St., Angola. People may begin offering condolences to the family at 9AM in the gathering area and those interested may participate in a rosary being said at 10AM in the church. Burial will follow lunch at Circle Hill Cemetery of Angola at 1:30PM.

         The family has requested memorials be made to the Steuben County Cancer Association, 516 E. Maumee St., Angola IN  46703 or the St. Anthony’s Altar & Rosary Society.
