Agnes M. (Beard) Suntken

Butler:  Agnes M. Suntken, 86, died Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Laurels of DeKalb in Butler. She was born on December 18, 1929 in Waterloo to the late Lloyd and Victoria (Collett) Beard. She graduated from Edon High School in 1947. She worked many years  at Eastside High School in the Cafeteria Department before retiring. She was an active member of  St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Butler. She was a former member of Butler  Fire Department Auxillary, American Legion Post# 202 Auxillary, and Butler Eagles Auxillary.  Agnes (Aggie) married the late Alfred H. Suntken, Jr. on June 3, 1950 at Angola United Methodist Church.  He preceded her in death on March 17, 2016.

She is survived by two sons: Gerald “Buck” (Laura) Suntken of Butler, Michael (Diane) Suntken of Auburn.  Four  granddaughters; Jennifer Rigby of Auburn, Becky Casto of Butler, Alisa Worden of Auburn and Andrea Teeple of Saginaw, TX., and 10 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter; Lyndia Jo Suntken, two brothers; Donald Beard and Clarence “Bud” Beard, six sisters; Vivian Werner, Virginia Hart, Florence Lint, Pauline Eck, Dorothy Dunham and  June Jozefowicz. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00a.m.  at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 217 W. Main St. Butler, with calling from 10:00-11:00a.m. at the church.  Pastor Amy Albers will officiate. Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday June, 24, 2016, from 3-7p.m. at the H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 212 N. Broadway , Butler.
