Elizabeth "Betty" L. (Murray) Doenges

Angola:  Elizabeth “Betty” Doenges, 86, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at The Laurels of DeKalb in Butler.

She was born Monday, September 23, 1929 in Osgood, IN to the late Gilbert and Lillie (Huntington) Murray. She was a retired RN from various hospitals, doctor’s offices, and volunteered her services for the Red Cross and mobile blood bank.  She was the nurse for the Alliance,OH schools when they traveled to Washington D.C. and also the band nurse one year.  She was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church, Ashley Order of Eastern Stars and a former member of the Angola Rebecca Circle.  She married Richard P. Doenges on November 11, 1952 in Anderson, IN and he survives.

Also surviving is one son; Mark Doenges of Angola and one daughter; Susan Lynn McNary-Murray of Canton, OH., two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister; Evelyn Pickett of Angola.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Virginia and one nephew.

Services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Angola United Methodist Church, 220 W. Maumee St. Angola, with Pastor Tim Terrell officiating.  Burial will follow at Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola.

Visitation is Friday, February 26, 2016 at the church from 1-3pm and 5-7pm.

Calling also 1 hour prior to services on Saturday.
