Hamilton: David Ray Crody, age 56, of Hamilton, IN, passed away on Tuesday from complications of the silent grip of Alzheimer’s. A proud, fourth generation Veteran, serving in the United States Army and Air Force, he gave his love of Country to his children, both of them enlisting in the Army. David was the quintessential outdoorsman; more apt to be spending his free time hunting, fishing, or open-fire cooking than anything else. Upon moving to Colorado in 1991, he solidified the moniker of mountain man, regularly hiking up 10,000 ft peaks to bag his next prey for the sake of his family’s sustenance. He regularly adorned, much to the contagion of those around, a teeth-bearing wide grin, that sent many in tears of joy. A regular subscriber to Pat McManus’s Outdoor Adventure stories, many a night he would share the tales while wailing with laughter at the dinner table. Having an entrepreneurial spirit, he was a self-sufficient concrete construction owner, sharing and fulfilling dreams of mountain home getaways with his customers for over 20 yrs. He was a member of Cody Park Community church, and in his recent years, he could be found taxiing the Cotopaxi church van on Sunday’s for kids and others in need. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Crody; mother, Shirley Klebe; son, Daniel Crody; daughter, Danielle Dye, two half-daughters, six grandchildren, and three sisters, Kay Crody, Lori Geiselman, and Kristy Shay.
