Clarence A. "Slim" Boger

Auburn: Clarence A. "Slim" Boger, 78, former Fire Chief for the City of Auburn Fire Department, died Thursday June 4, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne. Clarence was born December 11, 1936 in Auburn to the late Harold and Dorothy (Mavis) Boger. He attended Auburn High School. He worked at the Auburn Rubber Company, Cooper Tire in Auburn, and the Auburn Fire Department for over 20 years and was the fire chief in 1992. After retirement he worked at Betz Nursing Home and Laurel's of DeKalb in the maintenance department. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, model trains and volunteering for the Red Cross and Auburn Food Bank. He married G. Jane (Dickson) Boger on August 14, 1954 and she survives in Auburn. Also surviving are two sons; Jerry (Beth) Boger of Garrett and Kim (Beth) Boger of Waterloo. Two daughters; Debbie (Robert) Leon of Auburn and Tina Clair of Auburn. 7 grandchildren; Tasha Clair, Jamie Conrad, Chris Leon, Becky Leon, Zack Boger, Kaitlin Boger and Sam Boger. Two step-grandchildren; Ashley Sunday and Jessica Goldsmith. 2 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren. Two brothers; Mike and Larry Boger both of Auburn and two sisters; Marlene Boger and Carolyn Trammel both of Auburn. His two loyal little friends; CJ and Janie his dogs. He was preceded in death by a son Terry Boger, two brothers; Frank and John Boger and a sister, Gloria Boger.

Services are 11 AM Monday June 8, 2015 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, with Pastor Benton Gates of Indiana Village Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Auburn. Visitation is Sunday June 7, 2015 from 3-8 PM at Feller and Clark Funeral Home.
