Sending our condolences on June's passing...knew she was on Golden Lake last Christmas card correspondence, then lost track of her.
She was a cousin,on our Arnold side, my grandparents, Edward and Eliza Johnston Arnold, Decatur, In, knew June and Aunt Faye via Grandma Grandpa Arnold,
She always had great stories about her nieces and nephews, her family. She always was such happy gal..!! . We would see she and Aunt Faye at som eof the gatherings or if some were in our area, stop in. We also would correspond back and forth, mostly at Christmas in the later years, then we did not hear from her. This obituary explains where she was living and about her.
Pastor and husband of our extended family just moved to the United Methodist parsonage on Golden Lake Road, a few miles off US 20. When there, I wanted to try to hunt up June. I think they would have been close in residence.
I have great memories of her and also such a fun gal to visit with...May she be in peace in Heaven now.
Condolences to all the family. .
Doug got a beautiful lilac bowl and pitcher set at my grands' auction, a beautiful set, I always hoped it has stayed in you J family. It was one of my grandma 's treasures and was on display in their home in Preble when I was at home on the Arnold home farm.
I also hope June's dolls, other collections , were shared with family, know she had a great life and had enthusism in all she did in her life..She was a great lady.
Rest in peace, June!

I used to bring my grandmother, Anna surfus, to visit her and her mother in the 1970s. So sorry for your loss.

In 1971 we moved into our weekend Golden Lake cottage next door to June and her mother, Faye. And of course their cute little dogs Mutsie and Tiki. We remained friends with June ever since. June and Nancy shared a love of teaching languages and also a mutual love for dolls. Dan and I will miss her dearly. We hope she's playing the piano in heaven. Our heartfelt sympathy to her family.

June was my Spanish teacher at MHS and my dear friend. The tough teachers are frequently misunderstood by teenagers, and under-appreciated. I loved her and felt bad when kids disappointed her in class. She attended my wedding in 1981 and stayed in touch until a couple of years ago. She was also friends with my mother, who taught History. We shared our love of travel and Spanish culture. She was a sweet, special soul, who ALWAYS talked about her family. Such a proud aunt. I miss her letters, but know that June had a strong faith and is resting in the Lord's arms. God bless all of June's family for loving her so much.
